Overview:
A fun and hands-on course designed to introduce children to the basics of video production using smartphones. Each week includes a theme, learning goals, and a creative activity.

• 2 days a week for 1hour a day
• 20 kids max per session
• cost per week $1,000 (that’s only $50 per student to attend weekly)

WEEK 1: Intro to Video Magic


Theme: Discovering the Power of Video
Goals:– Learn what video production is and where we see it every day- Explore your smartphone camera’s basic features
• Activity:– Record a 10-second video introducing yourself

WEEK 2: Storytelling & Planning

• Transform 2D shapes into 3D (cube, cylinder, sphere)
• Practice shading with light/dark to make forms look real
Exercises: Draw a snowman from spheres \ a robot from cubes
Fresco Tool Focus: Opacity brushes, smudge, and blending.

WEEK 3: Lights, Camera, Action!

Theme: Shooting Like a Pro
Goals:– Learn how to hold your phone steady Understand different types of camera shots (wide, medium, close-up)-
Use natural and indoor light to improve your video
• Activity:– Record a 15–30 second scene using different angles

WEEK 4: Let’s Talk! (Sound & Voice)

Theme: Audio is Everything!
Goals:– Understand the importance of clear sound- Learn how to record voiceovers
Activity:– Record a short voiceover and add it to your Week 3 video1

WEEK 5: Editing Basics

Theme: Turning Clips Into a Story
Goals:– Learn how to trim and move clips using a free mobile editing app (iMovie, CapCut, or InShot)- Add music and titles
Activity:– Edit your Week 4 video into a complete 30–60 second story

WEEK 6: Add Your Style

Theme: Time to Get Creative!
Goals:– Use filters, effects, and emojis to enhance your video- Experiment with slow motion or fast motion
• Activity:– Re-edit your Week 5 video with fun effects and personal touches

WEEK 7: Final Project Filming

Theme: Lights, Camera, Final Take!
• Goals:– Review your storyboard- Film your final short movie (1–2 minutes long)
Activity:– Complete filming and begin editing your final project

WEEK 8: Film Festival Day!

Theme: Share Your Story
Goals:– Celebrate your hard work- Reflect on what you learned
Activity:– Watch each other’s videos- Vote on fun categories (Best Story, Funniest Scene, Coolest Edit)- Receive a certificate or badge of completion
